In 1991, Michael Jordan wore the Air Jordan 6, completed his second MVP season, locked in another scoring title, and hoisted the NBA Championship trophy for the first time in his illustrious career. Tinker Hatfield threw two grip holes in the rubber tongue to help sneakerheads slip their foot in more easily, and included a translucent sole effectively contrasted the colored midsole. That proved to be an essential detail once the infamous “Infrared” colorway hit the streets.
